Tragic June: OJB Jezreel, Henrietta Kosoko, others pass on

The month of June appears to have recorded the highest number of celebrity death this year.
From boxing legend Mohammed Ali, Nigeria’s sport personalities Stephen Keshi, Amodu Shuaibu to entertainment stars Henrietta Kosoko, and OJB Jezreel.
It was just a few days into the month that these unfortunate death of popular people happened; for Mohammed Ali, we could say the man is of age and has really gone to rest.

However, here in Nigeria we really felt the impact of the untimely death of the aforementioned deceased particularly that of Keshi and Shuaibu which happened barely 48 hours interval.
The Nigerian and the entertainment industry were still mourning the death of Henrietta Kosoko, popular actress and wife of top Nollywood personality, Jide Kosoko when on Tuesday, iconic music producer OJB Jezreel died.

Everybody knows about the battle of OJB with kidney problem and the much publicised fund raiser to get him India for a transplant in 2013.
Real name Babatunde Okungbowa, OJB Jezreel passed on the early morning of Tuesday, June 14.
According to his manager, Moradeyo Folajaiye his kidney transplant had failed completely since last week.
OJB passes on a month to his 50th birthday.

His body has been deposited in a morgue at Isolo General Hospital, Lagos.
He is survived by three wives, June, Korede, Mabel and eight children. His three wives lived with him.
Speaking about his death, his first wife Mabel (aka Mama J), who donated one of her kidneys to him, said she does not regret doing so at all.
“I don’t regret it, I did it because I wanted to. I wasn’t forced to do it. After all he’s my husband, so I don’t regret it”, Mabel said.
