Trans-cultural marriages will engender world peace – Orji

Marriages and relationships across continents are agents of world peace and development, Governor Theodore Orji of Abia state has said. Orji declared this on Saturday in Amainyi Ukwu in Ihitte Uboma LGA of Imo state on the occasion of a traditional marriage of the daughter of Prof. Joseph Ebeniro of University of Port Harcourt.

He said by being married outside the continent, inter-continental and world new relationship has been created, while a bridge across cultures has been built for a better world.

As an Old Boy of Santa Crux, now Olokoro High School and classmate of his, Orji described Ebeniro as “a man of substance and cerebral,” and prayed for the success of the marriage between Ada Ebeniro and Jason Lucas Diperess of Oklahoma City of United States of America.
Orji assured Jason that he would savour the relationship, and urged him to explore the opportunity of the trans-continental marriage to establish an enduring relationship that would be beneficial to the two families, as well as Nigeria and USA.

Speaking earlier, the Ebeniro thanked Orji for sharing his moments of joy as he gave the hand of his only daughter in marriage, adding that his joy further knew no bounds.

“When you get to Umuahia, you wonder how the state has been transformed under Governor Theodore Orji,” he said, wondering “if there is any ministry in the country to assess or rate governors and developments in states in the country “especially in Umuahia. It is scintillating.”

He stated that with such developments and empowerments youths in Abia,  if replicated in the country would “let bombing be a thing of the past” and urged Orji to continue with his good works.
