Transmitting company to return electricity to Maiduguri

The Maiduguri Office of Yola Power Transmitting Company (YPTC) has commenced rectification of high tension faults and  power transmitting  faults at Damboa town transmitting center and few transformers as well as electric poles within Maiduguri metropolitan council and Jere Local Government area of the state capital with a view to return full and regular supply of electricity to the city.
Anonymous sources at the Yola Transmitting Company, Maiduguri office along Jos-Kano road disclosed to Blueprint that since two weeks ago, engineers and technicians from both the Bauchi zonal and Maiduguri offices have commenced work at different locations within the Maiduguri city and Damboa power station towards rectifying the faults that prevented the company from supplying electricity to the people few months ago.
The sources however said the issue of Boko Haram insurgency had in the past stopped work in many places but this time around, with the improvement in security along Damboa -Biu road, works at the transmitting center had commenced and in few days time or by sallah period, power supply will return to the stat
