Travels: Adamawa gov gives marching order to newly elected LG Chairmen

Barely 24 hours after the declaration of Saturday local government election results in Adamawa state won by Peoples Democratic Party  (PDP) in all the 21 LGA’s of the state, Gov. Ahmadu umaru Fintiri has sworn in the newly elected local governments chairmen in the state.

The chairmen were administered with the oath of office and oath of allegiance by the Attorney General and commissioner of justice. Barrister. AK jingi at an elaborate event attended by party supporters, friends and we’ll wishers Monday at Mahmud Ribadau square yola.

Speaking at the event, Gov. Fintiri charged the newly inaugurated chairmen to provide dividends of democracy to their people and banned them from unnecessary travelling out of their respective local governments except if necessary.

He urged them to stay in their respective local governments and faced governance and stop engaging themselves on necessary issues that will not add value to the people, saying that his administration is committed to fulfilled all its promises to the people hence the need for them to key in into the administration 11 points agenda.

Fintiri further warned them against corruption and embezzlement of public funds and task them to be honest, fair and just to all manners of people and carry everyone along in the process of governance.

Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated chairmen, the chairman of Michika local government, Micheal Shehu, thank the governor , the PDP and the people of the state for given them this opportunity to served.

According to him, they will discharged their duties honestly and fairly with fear of god and delivered dividends of democracy to their people at the grassroots, assuring  that they will not disappoint the electorates.
