Tribute trails Kuje APC chieftain’s demise

All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Kuje area council has been thrown into mourning over the death of a top member of the party, Alhaji Saliu Bagudu, after a protracted illness. Bagudu died at the National Hospital Abuja on Wednesday, last week, of undisclosed illness. In his tribute, the traditional ruler of Gwargwada, the home town of late Bagudu, His Royal Highness (HRH), the Agabe of Gwargwada, Hussani Mam, said the domain had been thrown into serious grieving “because Alhaji Saliu Bagudu was a traditional counsellor and Galadiman of Gwargwada, whose rich advice will be greatly missed.

” Mam described the late Bagudu as “a friendly, receptive, generous person who was equally detribalised and mingled well with every cadre of people during his life time.” According to him, Bagudu will be sorely missed and called on his children as well as the entire family to sustain his sterling qualities. Also, the fi rst son of the deceased, Alhaji Abubakar Salisu Bagudu, described his death as “a big loss,” stressing that he had left “a very big vacuum in the family that would be diffi cult to fi ll.” “We were cordial friends when he was alive and he treated everyone like an equal without discrimination. We would miss him dearly especially his fatherly advice and encouragement,” he said. Th e Late Saliu Bagudu was the FCT Chairman of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and later became the National Vice Chairman of the party in the North-central zone before joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) as elder until his death.
