Ukraine’s deputy defence minister says the country’s forces have retaken the whole Kyiv region.
Hanna Malyar said in an update on Saturday: “The whole Kyiv region is liberated from the invader.”
Her claim was not immediately verified but Ukrainian forces have been retaking territory around the capital city in recent days as Russian forces pull out.
