Troops deployed in exercise AYEM AKPATUMA (Cat Race) have intercepted large number of armed herdsmen in Asom village, Guma local government area of Benue State.
According to Army spokesperson, Brig. Gen. Texas Chukwu, the troops engaged the herdsmen at Ukaa and Babban Ruwa , resulting in the death of a herdsman.
He said troops on patrol on Tuesday rescued two persons shot by suspected herdsmen along Gbajimba -Kaseyo road.
