Troops unleash heavy blow on Boko Haram as Buhari heads to Yobe

The Troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade and Nigerian Army Special
Forces School in Buni Yadi, Yobe state says, it has successfully
defeated Boko Haram terrorists that launched attack on its base on
Sunday.

This was disclosed to newsmen in a press statement made available by
Major Nureni Alimi, the Assistant Director Army Public Relation of the
27 Task Force Bridge.

“The terrorists came to engage the Brigade around 4.15pm on Sunday
20th January, 2018, daring the troops for almost two and half hours.
The gallant troops stood their ground and thoroughly dealt with them”.

“Two Gun trucks of the terrorists were collected from them and some of
them were neutralized on the process while several others were seen
taking to their heels with gunshot injuries.  Cache of Anti Aircraft
ammunitions and bombs of Rocked Propelled Gun were also recovered” he
said.

The statement further, said 4 soldiers sustained minor injuries and
are receiving treatment.   Buni Yadi residents who do not want his
name in print confirmed to Blueprint that the gallant troops were
heard jubilating on the victory recorded.

Buni Yadi is the headquarters of Gujba local government council of
Yobe state and the home town of APC National Secretary, Mai Mala Buni
who is contesting for governorship seat of the state.
