Truce between Bello, Ohinoyi a birthday gift to monarch – Group 

An emerging leading tourist organisation, Ohueje Ohinoyi Festival, has hailed the peace move between the Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and His Royal Majesty, Ohinoyi of Ebira land, Alhaji Ado Ibrahim, and described the gesture as a birth gift for the traditional ruler who clocks 94 years. 

The organiser of the festival, Alhaji Tijani Adinoyi Sheidu, commended the governor and the Ohinoyi for making peace, saying the action brought so much joy to all and sundry in the land.

He stated that Ohueje Ohinoyi has enjoyed tremendous support from the government of Governor Bello and the palace of Ohinoyi of Ebira land, who’s the festival, Ohueje Ohinoyi is named after, saying the annual festival is the bigger beneficiary of the truce.

The group particularly commended the fact that an end to the feud was coming at a time the monarch is celebrating his 94th birthday and 26 years on the throne.

The organisation further described the new developments as demonstration of father and son’s relationship.

The group stated that: “We felicitate with the palace of Ohinoyi of Ebira land, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Ado Ibrahim as he celebrates his 94th birthday today. 

“The birthday is coming at a better time, when the impasse between the state government and the palace of Ohinoyi has been resolved by the Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

“Our monarch’s reign has brought so many blessings and development to the land. The popular festival, Ohueje Ohinoyi, which was conceived in his time, is now source of employment for women and youth and also the fastest growing festival today owing to governments and private sectors collaboration,”

Ado Ibrahim was installed as the paramount ruler of Ebira people in 1997 and is one of the oldest monarchs in the country with a reign spanning 26 years.
