Tukur assumes office as executive secretary Zamfara PHCB

Dr. Isma’ila Tukur Gusau has been appointed as the Executive Secretary, Zamfara State Primary Health Care Board by Governor Bello Mohammed Matawallen Maradun.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after assuming his office Monday, Dr. Tukur Ismail Gusau re-iterated his commitment to justify the confidence reposed in him by the State Governor Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawallen Maradun.

He said he will do everything possible to reinvigorate the board and adhere to the Governor’s efforts to boost healthcare delivery in the state.

“Governor Bello Matawalle has never relented effort in providing the state counterpart funding to the board which he said was a pointer of his administration’s readiness to ensure provision of basic health needs to citizens of the State”. he said.

According to him, Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle has already directed for the redeployment of all  primary health care workers in the 14 local government to the board in which the implementation process had reached advanced stage.

Dr. Tukur further stated that the 147 standard primary health care facilities constructed by Governor Bello Matawallen Maradun and appointment of the board chairman and members which  reflects  the National policy on primary health care would go a long way in availing the state with various opportunities and advantages.

On the issue of development partners working in the state, he said his stewardship would develop more synergy with them in view of the critical role they are playing in making the board functions very effective.

The Executive Secretary who reaffirmed his commitment to work with the State ministry of health, also charged state and LGA staff of the board to be ready to work , saying he would not condone laxity or any act capable of down grading the board’s established reputations.
