Tutor young ones for continuity, don urges mentors’ association


Members of International Association of Mentors and Quality Improvement Experts (IAMQiE) have been urged to focus more on tutoring the younger generation in order to transfer knowledge for continuity.

While declaring the occasion of IAMQIE Foundation Members Inauguration/Induction open in Abuja, Prof. Anthony Ogbonna Emeribe, urged the members to always strive to impart knowledge on young minds to close the skills gap that have been the order of our society.

Emeribe who is also the Chairman of Board of Trustees (BoT) of IAMQiE informed that members are quality human beings who should always mentor the young ones to advance the society for better.

Emeribe who was represented by Mrs. Chioma Onuorah thanked the members for making the ceremony eventful.

Also in his address, IAMQiE Global Coordinator, MLS Humphrey Ndubueze Elendu who said the word “Mentor” was first used 3000 years ago in the ancient Greek Epic Poem, “Ulysses” defined mentor as a highly experienced/knowledgeable person, a trusted counselor, coach or guide who supports and facilitates the realization of the career or specific work project or general life advice or a dream of a less inexperienced person.

Elendu said that in mentoring, a mentor is seen as brain to pick, ears to listen and push in the right direction.       

Elendu noted that a mentor is seen as “brains to pick, ears to listen, and push in the right direction and can help to shorten learning curve, open minds to new / knowledge, ideas, skills, abilities and possibilities; identify opportunities.

IAMQiE Communications, Media and Publicity Team Lead, Onaoluwa Abimbola Ajayi said that IAMQiE is a new not-for-profit, apolitical, non-religious, non-partisan organization formed for the incubation and advancement great ideas for research, innovation, and development.
