TV College gets state-of-the-art equipment – Rector

Students of Nigeria Television Authority Television College, Jos (NTA TVC), has been assured of quality education and practical skills as state of the arts equipment reaches it.

College Rector, Dr. Barnabas Gbam, gave the assurances yesterday while addressing journalism and production students.

He said: “When I came here and found that the quality and quantity of the equipment that we have are not befitting and sufficient to drive the kind of programmes and objectives of this institution, I write to the DG, he had approved and has actually giving us state of the arts studio equipments.

“As I speak, there are all in my office, so what you are going to have in your studio is what is obtainable in every modern studio in the world.”

Gbam said the DG had also approved a transmitter for the college, adding that he would continue with all processes to ensure that it is released to the college.

He said: “The quality of production you have seen from Diploma 11 students here, is what the graduates of other traditional mass communication cannot do.”

According to him the college management is genuinely committed to transforming it, stressing that lean resources are the bane hindering development of facilities in the college, adding that the management is doing its best to get intervention from Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), other agencies as well as Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, being the affiliate institution of the College.

He appealed to students to pay their school fess as at when due, and reassured them that the DG had agreed that any student that graduated with first class, would get automatic employment with the NTA.
