A TY Danjuma Foundation, Weekend, organised a 2-day training programme for Primary Health care nurses in Akwa Ibom state.

Forje said the Healthy Mother, Healthy Child Project aims at ensuring that at least 700 pregnant women across Nsit Atai, Mbo and Urue Offong/Oruko Local Government Areas make at least four ANC visits and the capacity of the healthcare workers who attend to these pregnant women is strengthened.

He said the Foundation is worried that according to Nigeria Demographic Health Survey (NDHS, 2018) the under-five mortality rate in Nigeria is 132 per 1,000 live births meaning that 1 in 8 Nigerian children never reach the age of 5.
