U20 AFCON: Flying Eagles star, in fitness race for Uganda clash

Flying Eagles are sweating on the fitness of midfielder Daniel Daga ahead of Thursday’s all-important U20 AFCON quarterfinal against Uganda.

Daga injured his knee in the team’s opening Group A game against Senegal.

Flying Eagles spokesman Sharif Abdallah told SCORENigeria the Dakkada FC star is making steady progress towards full recovery.

“Daga is making good progress to be fit for the match against Uganda,” Abdallah disclosed.

“His full fitness will soon be ascertained.”

Mohammed Aminu has started for Nigeria in the absence of the injured Daga.

The Flying Eagles need to win Thursday’s game against the Young Cranes of Uganda to book their passage to the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup in Indonesia in May.

Kick-off time in Ismailia is 6pm.
