U20 AFCON: Nigeria’s Flying Eagles tackle Uganda for World Cup ticket

The Flying Eagles, who finished as runners-up in the U20 AFCON Group A, will now have to go past Uganda Friday evening to qualify for the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup in Indonesia.

The winners of this U20 AFCON quarterfinal will also advance to the last four of the competition.

This was after the Young Cranes of Uganda finished as runners-up in Group B tonight.

Tonight, Uganda were held to a scoreless draw by debutants South Sudan in a final Group B tie to finish with five points from three matches.

South Sudan also qualified for the quarterfinal as one of two third best losers.

Congo won the group after they were also held to a goalless draw by Central African Republic.

The 2023 U20 World Cup will be staged by Indonesia in May with the semifinalists from the U20 AFCON representing Africa.
