UAG commends Irabor for synergy in Armed Forces

The Unity Advocacy Group (UAG) has commended the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Lucky Irabor, for bringing unity of purpose in the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

General Irabor had during a visit to the 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Ibadan, dispelled insinuations that there is lack of synergy among security agencies in Nigeria.

The CDS said, “The misconceived ideas or opinion in town by those who are uninformed is to the effect that the armed forces are working in disparity.

“What we have been doing today is to let you know that disparity does not exist. We have come today as team working together and to let you know the directive of the President,”

In a statement signed by it convener, Ifeanyi Aigbedion on Saturday, said the CDS since assuming office has not hidden the fact that a united military will decisively tackle the security challenges in the country.

Aigbedion said General Irabor has shown determination to work with the Service chiefs in the interest of the country.

The statement reads in part: “On assumption of Office, the CDS visited Maiduguri with the other service chiefs. They have visited Kaduna, Zamfara and Ibadan together. This attests to a good leadership which is willing to lead by example.

“UAG is aware that only unity can bring an end to the present security challenges in the country. We as stakeholders in the Nigeria project commend the leadership of the Armed Forces of Nigeria for this show of unity.

“The Armed Forces of Nigeria is a binding force in this great country. To have a leadership that understands and is working in this direction is highly appreciated.

“We use this opportunity to appeal to Nigerians to continue to support the AFN as they make sacrifices for the safety of our dear nation.”
