UEFA Champions League: Inter battle Dortmund as Ajax face Chelsea

The game of the night takes place at the San Siro when Inter Milan battle Borussia Dortmund in their Group F encounter. Inter Milan are yet to register a win, losing to Barcelona and then drawing with Slavia Prague. The upcoming double header with Dortmund will go a long way in determining if Antonio Conte’s men can make the knockout stage. Dortmund top the group, level on points with Barcelona, and with the Catalans almost certain to breeze past Slavia Prague in their double header, they will need to pick up points before they head to the Nou Camp. Matches at the San Siro can be tricky, but they will be hoping to pick up at least a point.

Chelsea will take on Ajax at the Amsterdam Arena. The Blues are on the back of a 1-0 win over Newcastle and will be looking to go from strength to strength. Ajax however are in great form. They haven’t lost a game all season and have won their opening European fixtures by 3-0 scoreline to lie top of Group H. They are also top of the Eredivisie log, winning eight of their opening ten games. It will be a huge mountain to climb for Frank Lampard’s men, who started their campaign with a surprise home defeat to Valencia but then went past Lille in their second game. Ajax are the favorites, but never say never.

Lille will entertain Valencia at the Stade Pierre Mauroy with a view to winning their first match in Group H. The French side have lost their opening two matches, while opponents Valencia are second, ahead of Chelsea on goal difference. Lille have won just one of their last seven games in Ligue 1, a stat that highlights just how poor they have been compared to last season. To make things worse, they have never beaten a Spanish team in European competition before. Valencia have been solid at the back but have lacked cutting edge upfront, drawing a blank in seven of their last 11 games, and will hope tonight won’t be one of those nights.

Barcelona will take on Slavia Prague at the Sinobo Stadium with a view to moving top of Group F.

RB Leipzig will face Group G leaders Zenit St. Petersburg at the Red Bull Arena, while bottom of the log Benfica host Lyon at the Estadio Da Luz.

Liverpool will travel to face Group E basement dwellers Genk at the Cristal Arena.

Group E table toppers Napoli will be eyeing their second win of the campaign when they travel to the Red Bull Arena Salzburg to face Red Bull Salzburg.
