Ugwuanyi appoints commissioner

Enugu state Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has appointed a new commissioner, Mr. Cornel Chijoke Onwubuya. Onwubuya’s appointment was made known in a letter the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Elder Gabriel Ajah, wrote to the members of the Enugu state House of Assembly for approval and a possible consideration. The Deputy Speaker, Enugu state House of Assembly, Donatus Uzogbado, who presided over the seating, read the nomination letter. Leader of the House, Ikechukwu Melitus Ezeugwu, moved a motion for the acceptance of the letter and it was seconded by Honorable Onyiye Ugwu before the Deputy speaker put a question for its acceptance to the members.

Cornel Chijioke Onwubuya before his nomination was the immediate past chairman of Uzo-Uwani local government area and also a former caretaker committee chairman of the same council. By his nomination, he is now the second former council boss appointed by Governor Ugwuanyi for the post of a commissioner after Emeka Ede, former Enugu North Council chairman who is now Commissioner for Agriculture. Onwubuya was mandated by the House to come for screening on Thursday with 25 copies of his curriculum vitae.
