Association of Communication and Language Arts Students (ACLAS) of University of Ibadan has organised a summit to interact with experts in media and communication professions.
The symposium held at the First Bank Hall in the university was to give students the opportunity to learn from the industry leaders invited to the programme.
The president of the association, Moses Richoffor, said “the summit was also designed to promote critical thinking, encourage positive approach and engagement in communication and breed the need for necessary curiosity and problem-solving among Nigerian youths.”
To achieve the summit’s objectives, five industry experts were invited to share their knowledge and experience in the media and communication industry with the students.
The theme for the summit is “Communication and the Nigerian Economy; What Youths Can Do to Succeed and Stand Out.”
The summit, which was open to students of tertiary institutions across the country, recorded a large turn-out of undergraduates, youths, university staff and other media practitioners around Ibadan.
Presentation of award to winners of the Dapo Olorunyomi National Essay Competition and plaques to invited guests climaxed the summit.
