Following the impressive performance of Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, against Lesotho in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Maseru last Sunday, a United Kingdom based Coach and agent, Craig Moniz has said the 20 year old has what it takes to fit perfectly into Arsenal FC’s striking force.
The former FIFA U-17 top scorer has continued to attract attentions from top clubs in Europe but the agent said Osimhen is the answer Arsenal required to sharpen its attack.
The youngster moved to LOSC Lille of France this summer from the Belgian Jupiler league side Sporting Charleroi and has scored seven goals and assisted two in 11 starts.
Following a record-breaking goal-scoring performance at the FIFA U17 World Cup, Barcelona and Arsenal both offered him positions at their clubs.
But instead he chose to go to Wolfsburg in Germany, however his quest to regularly be involved in first-team football landed him in Lille last summer and he has bursted into mainstream attention.
There are news that Arsenal top scorer Aubameyang may have told the club of intention to move to Spain next summer and Craig feels Osihmen will be a better replacement with his pace and ingenuity.
Said he :“Osihmen profits from players out wide making chances; whether if the opposing defence is settled in shape or transitioning he’s just that effective.
“He has scored seven goals and assisted two in 11 starts for Lille this season and what makes him so prolific as a goal scorer is his off the ball movement,” he said
