Umahi commence screening of new permanent secretaries four years after

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state has said the state would commenced screening of new permanent secretaries in the state.

He said he would select two each from the thirteen local government areas of the state, making them 26 including the already three serving permanent secretaries.

The state has been without permanent secretaries for the past four years and this has triggered criticisms from civil servants and opposition parties in the state.

Umahi however noted that the appointment of the new permanent secretaries would be based on their performance in the screening.

He said: “I want to select the intelligent once that will help in assist to reform the civil service, because we want to reposition every aspect of civil service.

“An oral interview will be conducted and only the intelligent once would be successful. There will be no favoritism if you pass you pass.
