Umahi swears-in new SSG, COS, others

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state Wednesday advised his appointees to desists from eye service and carry out their duties professionally.

The Governor further charged them to be in charge of the decisions taken in their offices and stop pestering him  when they want to take decision in the ministries or department they are meant to take care off.

Umahi made said this at the executive chambers Government House Abakaliki, when he swore in the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Dr Kenneth Ugbala, Chief of Staff (COS) Dr. Offor Okorie, Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Chief Cletus Ofoke.

He threatened to sack any appointee that belongs to any cult or promoting cult activities in the state.

“No appointee of my government will be a cultist and the war against cultism is yielding a result thanks to security agencies.

“The National Security Adviser will be here by the end of the month, he will take the remnants and those who have refused to denounce cultism. I had to intervene by calling the Commissioner of Police in the state not to arrest very big men he wanted to arrest. So, I wantto declare that fight against cultism will not have respect for anybody”, he said.

Meanwhile, governor Umahi also swore-in a Senior Special Assistant in charge of Abuja Liaison office and Four Special Assistants in-charge of security.

The Special Advisers he said will be in-charge of security across the three senatorial zones of the state and the capital city, Abakaliki.

The Governor also reappointed his Chief Press Secretary, Emmanuel Uzor.
