Worried by the growing unemployment rate in Nigeria, the SubNews Empowerment Foundation (SEF) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to declare a state of emergency in the critical job and wealth creation agencies of federal government.

Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of SubNews, Mr. Tony Christian, while announcing the unveiling of SEF as a subsidiary of his company, in a statement, named such agencies to be affected by the state of emergency to include the Bank of Industries Ltd (BoI), Bank of Agriculture (BoA) and the Industrial Training Funds (ITF).
Other agencies which the publisher stated were performing below expectations are the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN) as well as the National Economic Reconstruction Fund (NERFUND).
The publisher expressed the confidence in the current administration, adding that “it has strong and robust determination to reposition and restructure these agencies to effectively serve as delivery vehicles to tackle unemployment and create wealth in the country.”

He, however, said “it would be counterproductive if the president fails to overhaul the existing management teams of these agencies as presently constituted and replace with individuals who truly share the vision and aspiration of the president alongside his change agenda.”
He described SEF as a “novelty” that would bring about positive impact on the lives of the unemployed Nigerians and the less privileged.
“SEF is confident that with patient and support of all, the present administration will not only fulfill the promises made to Nigerians, but would lay a solid foundation upon which will lead to Nigeria’s greatness,” he said
