Unforgettable experience at MMIA

I had an unforgettable positive experience at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos on September 24, 2007. My son arrived in Nigeria from London on Monday, September 24, 2007 via Belleview Airlines in the morning hours. He forgot the small bag containing his international passport, 250 pounds, digital camera and other documents in the trolley.

When this was noticed on the way home, we drove back to the airport to check for the missing bag and we reported the incident to the FAAN Security department and the Airport Police Command. The officials promised to contact us if there is any news about the missing bag.

Surprisingly, about two hours later, I received a call from the airport that the bag was recovered by Sky Blue, the outsourced company that handles the trolley at the airport. We collected the missing bag with the content intact. I was greatly surprised for the honesty, sincerity, integrity and good ethical standard that were exhibited by Aminu Abubakar, the Sky Blue staff member that discovered the missing bag, colleague Yetunde Oguntade and the FAAN security staff on duty in the morning hours of Monday, September 24, 2007.

I, thereafter wrote a letter of appreciation to the Director General of FAAN, security department of FAAN and the Managing Director of Sky Blue Services.
