UniAbuja VC seeks students’ support

Vice Chancellor, University of Abuja, Prof. Michael Adikwu, yesterday called for the cooperation of the students in the effort to rebuild and reposition the institution.

Adikwu made the appeal while addressing students of the Institute of Education, at the permanent site of the university.
He said the institution doors would be opened for complaints and suggestions from students, adding that the staff would always be available to attend to them.

“One important thing I must mention about your case is that, anyone who is admitted into the Institute of Education is trained to be a teacher,” he said.

Adikwu said the performance of students in the country currently revealed the inadequacy of teachers hence the establishment of the institute to train categories of teachers to meet modern teaching challenges.

“I have always attributed the moral decadence in our society to teachers because teachers occupy an enviable position and are expected to mould lives,” he said.
The vice chancellor advised the students against cultism, examination malpractice, truancy and every negative act. (NAN)
