UNILAG launches first campus TV station

University of Lagos (UNILAG chairman of UNILAG Radio and TV project, Prof. Ralph Akinfeleye, has said the university has acquired a license to operate the first television station on its campus.
Corroborating the statement, an official of the institution, Akhabue Osezua, said the UNILAG TV station was commissioned on Saturday, November 11.
Osezua further said the campus TV would start operation in earnest as the university had already recruited staff members for the section, calling students who have interest in working for the television station to volunteer their services.
Unlike the university radio station, Akhabue said the campus TV is a commercial television station and not a community media outlet.
Speaking at the commissioning of the TV station, the former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Rahamon Bello said he was happy and fulfilled that the television station started operation during his tenure.
He therefore, praised the university management, staff, students and the entire community for the milestone.
