Unilorin lecturer wins Gani Fawehinmi award

A senior lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication University of Ilorin, Dr Kehinde Kadiri, has won the outstanding impact personality of the year of the Gani Fawehinmi impact and integrity awards.


The University of Ilorin bulletin issued Monday stated that  the award ceremony was organised in memory of the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN) by the Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA) in collaboration with the MacArthur Foundation.
The bulletin reported that the event witnessed a robust dissection of contemporary issues of political and national significance.


It stated that notable guests took their turns to analyse germane issues that attracted the attention of late Fawehinmi during his life time and career.
“Speakers also debated what would have been his likely reaction to current happenings in the country.”
The bulletin also reported that some of the guests included the publisher of Premium Times, Dapo Olorunyomi, and a number of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs), some of whom were Chief Gani Fawehinmi’s contemporaries as well as mentees. (NAN)
