University, fi rm sign N18bn MoU on facilities

Th e Federal University Gusau, (FUG) has formally signed a memorandum of understanding with Boamax Bluesky Resources Nigeria Ltd in respect of N18 billion PPP infrastructures projects in the university. Th e MoU covers seven projects to be executed in the university by the company including two hostels of 140 rooms each, one storey building to accommodate staff of the primary and secondary schools, and 5000-seating capacity computer training center.

Also, the MoU will address houses for 500 staff , 25-shop capacity shopping mall, 6 kilometers road network and cafeteria respectively. Th e implementation period of the projects is 48 months from the time of the release of the bond payment within the next 15 years while the university will provide 20 percent and the company will provide 80 percent from the off shore fi nanciers for the projects. Speaking shortly after signing the MoU yesterday, the Vice chancellor of the university, Prof.

Magaji Garba, said the collaboration will complement the federal government eff ort to ensure an environment conducive for learning and teaching and improved learning facilities. He assured that his management will ensure the development of the university to ensure it secures approval from all the relevant agencies especially Infrastructure Confectionary Regulatory Commission (ICRC) and Federal Ministry of Education.
