Unpaid salary arrears: Employees of Greetings FM threaten to drag Ex-President Jonathan’s Cousin to court

Employees of Greetings FM have threatened to drag Ex-President Jonathan’s Cousin, Robert Azibaola to court over the non-payment salary arrears from July 2019 till date.

The aggrieved employees gave the threat through their lawyer, Bukola James, in a letter dated 24th August, 2022 and addressed to Azibaola who is the Chairman, Board of Directors of the radio station.

“We as solicitors, on behalf of all staff of Greetings FM (Greetings Media Ltd) whose employment contracts still subsist hereby give you notice to pay up all arrears of salary owed till date to their usual individual/salary accounts.

“Recall that the said media organization had embarked on a partial shutdown sometime in the month of July, 2019 to carry out some maintenance but went limbo while salaries remain unpaid till date.

“Our clients have suffered serious hardship as a result of the non-payment to the extent that some have died because they could not meet their financial obligations.

“Please, confer with the accountant of the organization to calculate the full arrears for immediate payment.

“TAKE NOTICE that unless you comply with this demand within 7 DAYS, we have the further instruction of our clients to enforce all or any of the remedies available under the law.

“A stitch in time saves nine.”

Greetings FM was one of the 52 broadcast stations whose license was temporarily suspended by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) over non payment of licensing fees.
