Use your number for political relevance, Atiku tells Women

The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party,(PDP) former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has challenged Nigerian women to use their numerical strength and push for those policies that will bring good governance as doing otherwise will bring untold hardship to families.

He further said that “any administration that relegates women to the back seat should be shown kicked out as women constitute more than 60 percent of voters and their collective resolve is enough to bring down any government.

Atiku made the call on Friday in Abuja during the Women Conference which held at Chida hotel tagged “Call for Action”.

The PDP Women who trooped out in their numbers caused human and vehicular trafficking around Chida Hotel and the entire Jabi axis where the event took place.

Different women groups adorned in different PDP attire and proudly displaying PDP flag locked down the entire district for hours as only a fraction of them could find a place in the Chida Event Centre.

Addressing the crowd, Atiku who was accompanied by his three wives explained that his three decades in politics has exposed to him the commitment of women to nation building and how effective they can be if giving political responsibilities.

He said, “This year makes it 30yrs of my consistent engagement in  politicking. I have come to realise that women are the most active voters even when voting was done by lining up behind a candidate.

Atiku added that, “You are not going to be in the other room I promise you. You have seen my wives here, they are not in the other room,  they are in the front.”

Also in his remarks, the National Chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus who also accompanied by his wife pointed out the difference between the incumbent and incoming President.

He said, “the incoming President is energetic, he is resourceful, he is industrious. Governance is a 24hrs demand and if you are not energetic, you will outsource the presidency.

The Chairman added that, “When he wins, Atiku will sit in his office to attend to the needs of the country and will not outsource anything”

He warned the Federal government that security agencies should not brutalise women during elections.

Also joining his Vice, the Director General of PDP Presidential Campaign Organization, Senator Bukola Saraki equally accompanied by his wife told the women that they are naturally gifted to carry out a course to its logical conclusion when determined unlike men that are distracted along the line.

While presenting the “Call to Action” templatr, Haija Aisha Jambo unveiled the strategy to be adopted by women  for canvassing for votes. She told women to go out and speak because when women speak, in the market, churches, family meetings people listen.

In her contribution, Hajiya Titi Atiku Abubakar, the first wife of Atiku said, “the candidate of today is a salable candidate. As you can see, Atiku has not relegated us to the other room. She allows us to go wherever we want, she allows us to do our businesses, so we are not relegated to the other room.

She also made it known that, “Atiku is an educationist, he wants to kick out hunger. Our children go to school but there is no jobs, Atiku is a creator of jobs. Atiku has about 26 children and all his children are involved in his businesses except one who is working for the government and that one is  a technocrat. Go out there and propagate Atiku so that we can make Nigeria an place to live” Titi charged women.
