Uyo-Ikot Ekpene road to be completed soon- Gov Emmanuel

.Despite the political differences between Senator Godswill Akpabio and Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom state, the governor has assured that the Uyo-Ikot Ekpene road would be completed soon.

Senator Akpabio had prior to his defection to the APC accused governor Emmanuel of abandoning most of the projects he stated including the Uyo-Ikot Ekpene road, which generated a lot of controversies in the state.

However, the Commissioner of Works, Akparawa Ephraim Inyangeyen, and engineers of the ministry while inspecting the ongoing Uyo-Ikot Ekpene road project confirmed that the governor directed that the road be completed soonest.

Inyang-eyen, who also supervised the demolition of properties on the right of way after compensation has been settled, ordered the construction firm handling the project to begin earthwork immediately, and asked that the electric poles along the right of way be relocated.

He appealed to the youths of communities to cooperate with the construction firms handling government projects.

He assured that the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led government is determined to open up every community across the state with the aim of boosting commerce, socio-economic activities and industrialization in the state in line with the present government’s thrust of making Akwa Ibom state a destination of choice for investment and leisure.
