Uzodinma gets accolades @60

Imo state governor, Senator Hope Uzodinna has been getting accolades from well-meaning Imolites for being able to record some achievements under seven months in office culminating in his 62nd birthday celebrations.

Speaking during the launch of a compendium of his achievements entitled “Seven Months On The Wheels”, the chief launcher and Convener of Hopism, a major support group of the governor, Evangelist Mike Ikoku, commended the author, Deacon TNJ Umunnakwe for putting the book together, saying that “the governor has really done well within the period under review without people knowing it.”

Ikoku recalled that the governor took over office at the outbreak of the Coronavirus Pandemic and was locked up  in a battle with the virus while engaging in other developmental projects in the state.

He added that he was the only governor who was working while others went into isolation to save their lives.

Describing the book as a wonderful work, he said that it needed to be heavily invested in and distributed to all the local government areas in the state for people to know the achievements which were good examples of the governor’s ‘Shared Prosperity’  mantra which signified that nobody’s individual interest was bigger than that of the state which was also what his Hopism group stood for.

Also speaking, the author of ” Seven Months On The Wheels”, Deacon TNJ Umunnakwe dismissed insinuations in some quarters that he wrote the book because he was secretly working for Senator Hope Uzodinma, saying that he honestly captured  the governor’s achievements numbering about 30 within his seven months in office to show Imolites how the governor worked round the clock during that period to get the state going. He mentioned some of his laudable achievements like stoppage of former governors’ pensions, establishment of mobile health clinic and purchase of Coaster buses to take civil servants to and from work.

Asked to compare Uzodinna’s seven months in office with that of Ihedioha, Umunnakwe who is also a publisher said Ihedioha equally did his best during his time, especially by layimg the foundation on which Uzodinma worked. But that with more time, Uzodonna’s administration would record more laudable achievements.
