Uzodinma’s aide hails outcome of security summit

Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mrs. Ruby Emele, said the security summit she organised for traditional rulers and Interim Management Committee(IMC) chairmen of local government councils was successful and would be beneficial to all.

She said the summit was used to enlighten the above mentioned helmsmen of autonomous communities and LGAs in the state on the security situation in the state, especially after the #EndSARS protests which took the whole country by storm and to keep them mentally prepared to check such occurrences in future.

“I spoke to the royal fathers, so that there will be no breakdown of law and order in their communities. In all, it was for the best interest of all”, she further clarified.

The special adviser spoke on the destruction of public properties by the demonstrators and made it clear that the youth of Imo state were not really the people that destroyed them but outsiders.

She added that it was not the best to destroy public properties which would eventually be rebuilt with tax payers’ money.

She assured that the governor would ensure that the youth of the state were well taken care of, especially with the recent release of some money with which to empower them, adding that the youth were very dear to the governor’s heart.

“After the data collection, comes the implementation. Then, the youth will be reimbursed.”

On the continuation of projects abandoned by the immediate past IMC chairmen under Emeka Ihedioha, Emele said the projects were being looked into and assured that anyone that would be beneficial to the people of the LGA where it was sited, would be completed.

She regretted that most of the projects were cited in the bushes and therefore were not accessible
