Valencia, Sociedad join race for Super Eagles star

Valencia and Real Sociedad are the latest clubs who now want to sign Sadiq Umar after the interest of another La Liga outfit Villarreal has been made known.

According to international transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Villarreal have to step up their chase for UD Almeria striker Sadiq because Valencia and Real Sociedad are also lurking.

Villarreal coach Unai Emery has identified Sadiq Umar as his top target to replace Senegal striker Boulaye Dia, who is set to move on loan to Italy.

This was after ‘The Yellow Submarine’ had planned to bring the Super Eagles striker to replace Arnaut Danjuma, who was close to joining Premier League side West Ham before the move fell through.

Last season, Sadiq Umar finished as top scorer for Almeria to gain promotion back to the Spanish top flight.

Almeria will be asking for a record transfer fee for the Nigeria star.
