Vigilante member shot dead at betting shop in Edo


A member of Edo State Security network otherwise known as vigilante has been reportedly shot dead. 
The vigilante who was simply identified as Endurance was said to have been trailed by his assailants to a Betting Shop where he was shot at closed rang. 
Stakers at the shop and passersby reportedly scampered for safety for fear of their own lives as the gunmen fired their target (vigilante) repeatedly.
Blueprint gathered that the tragic incident occurred on Saturday evening at Ologbotsere Street, off Benin Technical College (BTC) road in Egor local government area of the state. 
An eyewitness who craved for annonimity said, “They (gunmen) about six of them rode on a Mercedes-Benz 4matic saloon car and Toyota Camry.”
The remains of the vigilance group member was reportedly evacuated by the police division in the Area.
Last week, gunmen suspected to be cultists shot dead Augustine Izu, a final year University of Benin (UNIBEN) in the area. 
Izu was said to have been attacked in his off campus residence hours after writing his final examination.
Spokesperson for Edo State police command, SP Bello Kotongs, could not be reached for comments on the vigilante member’s death.
He had confirmed the death of Izu, adding that the perpetrators would be brought to book.
