Violation: How much Police generated from motorcycles in Ebonyi

The Ebonyi state Police command Tuesday said it has generated the sum of N600,000 from motorcycle riders who violated the ban of the use of motorcycle in the  state from 7 pm.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Loveth Odah said over 167 motorcycles have been impounded for violating the ban.

Ebonyi state government had before now banned the use of motorcycle beyond 7:pm every night except those on essential duties.

Odah who disclosed that over N600,000 have been raked in for the state government from defaulters, said the bikes can only be released to their owners after they pay N8,500 fine as stipulated by law.

She warned that the command would not hesitate to deal with anyone disobeying the ban.

Meanwhile, the government has warned residents to stay away from trouble.

The government said it would deal decisively with anyone found fomenting trouble in the state.

The state Commissioner for Internal Security and Border Peace, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha gave the warning while speaking with Blueprint.

He said “People should stay away from trouble because we will not leave you. If you know trouble will lead you into problem, please stay away because we will not leave you unpunished. If you then try it, we will go all out  against you and there is no any way you will escape it because we are more in number and the laws of the land are againstmwhat you are doing”, he said
