Violence: PDP urges police to search Oshiomhole’s home

The leadership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo state has urged the police to execute a search warrant on the country-home residence of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, former chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The party’s call came amidst rising political violence in Oshiomhole’s Edo North senatorial district ahead of the September 19, 2020 governorship election.

Spokesman of PDP campaign council, Mr. Chris Nehikhare, who disclosed this during a media briefing in Benin City alleged that the papetrators of the violence are resident in Oshiomhole’s home in Iyamho.

According to Chris, “We are encouraging the police to carry on with their investigation.

“Police are not doing enough  to stop these criminals and most of the attacks have been traced to Oshiomhole.

“We want the police to execute search warrant for thugs that are  in Oshiomhole’s residence.

“Most of the attacks have been targeted at PDP members. We are disappointed that Oshiomhole have been causing trouble ahead of the election,” he stated.

However, spokesman for Oshiomhole, Mr. Victor Oshioke, said the allegation was part of PDP desperation to tarnish the image of the former Edo governor.

Oshioke said, “Nobody comes to his house at Iyamho with weapons. It is only security details that comes in with weapons and everybody who comes in is seriously searched at the gate before entry.”
