Violent free elections: Abuja inhabitants hail residents, indigenes

The President of Abuja Original Inhabitants and Youth Empowerment Organization (AOIYEO), Ambassador Isaac David, has lauded both the residents and indigenes over their conducts in the just concluded Presidential, Senatorial and House of Representatives elections.

David, who also doubled as Special Assistant on Youth Matters to Minister of FCT, lauded the people of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for their peaceful conduct before, during and after the presidential elections held across the country on Saturday February 25, 2023.

In a press release issued after the elections, the President thanked the capital city residents, mostly youths for following all the electoral processes in a peaceful and orderly manner.

He added: “I am proud of Abuja youths both residents and the indigenes for being disciplined, peaceful and law abiding before, during and after the presidential election.

“You have made a strong statement by listening to my good advices and instructions that peace and development of this nation rest on your shoulders.

“Allowing peace to reign during the campaigns and in the elections was the reason why no record of violence was found in FCT, to me, it is a good omen for the future of this country because our youths can now be confidently trust with power.

“With this milestone, you have demonstrated to the present leaders that you are equal to the task if given opportunity,

“As I always tell you that election should not be seen as a do or die affair, we should not allow politics to destroy our relationship neither should we kill or maim in the name of politics, am happy that you allow this to sink.

“Nigeria is our country and it is bigger than individuals to paddle, so am calling our youth to get to work and support the new government in order to build a nation of our choice.”
