Volume of activities at NSE declines by 59.3 %


Volume of transactions on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) Wednesday declined by 59.3 per cent.
The NSE trading result showed that volume of shares traded declined by 317.589 million as Investors sold 218.242 million shares valued at N3.138 billion in 3896 deals against 535.834 million shares cost N5.079 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 4498 deals.


Market capitalisation of listed equities increased by N1 billion to N14.815 trillion from N14.814 trillion reported on Tuesday.
The NSE All Share Index stood at 28344.33 points from 28344.04 reported the previous day.
A review of the investment during the day showed that Guinness Nigeria Plc led gainers table during the day, gaining N0.50 kobo to close at N15.50 kobo, Guaranty Trust Bank followed with a gain of N0.45 kobo to close at N30.00, Eterna PLC gained N0.43 kobo to close at N4.81 kobo, Wapco added N0.35 kobo to close at N17.35 kobo, Africa Prudential PLC up by N0.31 kobo to close at N5.70 kobo.


On the contrary, Stanbic IBTC led gainers table, dropping by N1.50 kobo to close at N42.50 kobo, Ardova PLC trailed with a loss of N0.45 kobo to close at N12.00, Etrazact fell by N0.21 kobo to close at N1.91 kobo, FCMB group down by N0.09 kobo to close at N2.26 kobo. Caverton dipped by N0.05 kobo to close at N1.75 kobo.
