Volume of transactions at NSE dips by 19.66%

Volume of activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange yesterday declined by 19.67 per cent as investors continued to seat on the fence to watch the pullback and correction being experienced in the market.


The NSE trading result for the day showed volume of transactions fell by 43.461 million as Investors traded 177.396 million shares valued at N2.676 billion in 4103 deals against 220.857 million shares cost N4.205 billion traded in 4192 deals.


Market Capitalisation of listed equities also declined by N7 billion or 0.03 per cent to N20.251 trillion from N20.258 trillion traded on Tuesday.
The NSE All Share Index also depreciated by 14.68 basis points to 38702.13 points from 38720.81 points reported the previous day.


A review of the investment during the day at the NSE showed that Wapic Insurance led gainers table during the day in percentage terms, gaining 10 per cent or N0.05 kobo to close at N0.55 kobo, SFS REIT followed with a gain of 9.94 per cent or N6.20 kobo to close at N68.60 kobo, Oando PLC increased by 9.67 per cent or N0.29 kobo to close at N3.29 kobo, Unity Bank gained 9.09 per cent or N0.06 kobo to close at N0.72 kobo. Livestock Feeds added 2.63 per cent or N0.05 kobo to close at N1.95 kobo.


On the contrary, NCR topped losers chart during the day, dropping by 9.71 per cent or N0.30 kobo to close at N2.79 kobo, Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals trailed with a loss of 9.09 per cent or N0.19 kobo to close at N1.90 kobo, Vitafoam Nigeria Plc fell by 5.16 per cent or N0.40 kobo to close at N7.35 kobo, Mansard Insurance declined by 5.05 per cent or N0.05 kobo to close at N0.94 kobo, NEM Insurance sheds 4.57 per cent or N0.10 kobo to close at N2.09 kobo.
