Vote Buhari, rescue Ekiti from ‘imminent’ suffering, Fayemi’s wife begs electorates

The first lady of Ekiti state, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, has declared that the best way to save the state from impending sufferings is by ensuring that President Muhammadu Buhari wins the February 16 presidential poll.

Mrs Fayemi also warned that Ekiti will be subjected to all forms of ridicule before getting what is due for it in Abuja if the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar triumphs in the election.

Erelu Fayemi who gave the advice during a campaign tour of Ekiti Central Districts on Wednesday also advised electorates in Ekiti state, especially women to stop voiding their ballot papers while voting.

Bemoaning the high incidences of void votes in Ekiti, the first lady urged women to embrace the ongoing voter education by the All progressives Congress, (APC) and other non-governmental organisations to be properly guided on how to vote rightly.

Addressing market women in Ilupeju and Itapa in Oye local government, the Ekiti state first lady said: “Void votes are high in Ekiti and it is common among our elderly women. Our party has begun massive campaign to guide you aright.

“I know that an average Ekiti man loves the dividends of democracy we are getting Under President Buhari and our governor and you want them to continue.

“It is necessary for you not to waste the votes you want to give to President Buhari. So, look at the ballot properly and place your finger inside the box in front of the broom, the logo of APC and we shall all reap the benefits of the Buhari’s second term.”

She said Ekiti has benefited tremendously within the last three months her husband, Dr. Kayode Fayemi assumed office being a top member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The first lady warned that the spate of development would be hindered tremendously if “Ekiti operates as an opposition state with PDP in charge of the federal government.”

She said the series of projects that were promised for Ekiti like the rail line and the ongoing federal secretariat, federal housing estate and others will be stalled, if Buhari loses.

“Since your Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi came on board, he had established good relationship with the federal government and we have started seeing the gains.

“Since Fayemi came on board, salaries and pensions have been regular. He now pays on monthly basis  unlike when workers were owed  for ten months .

“Do you want to vote for a party that won’t release your federal allocations as and when due? Do you want Mr. governor to be going to Abuja and  beg before getting your allocations?

“If you don’t want all these to happen, then vote Buhari/Osinbajo next Saturday.

“When you get to the polling booths, don’t look for Buhari’s picture or name on the ballot. Look at the symbol of our party, which is broom and put you finger in front to save Nigeria and Ekiti in particular from ruin”, she advised.
