Vote God- fearing leaders in 2023, Islamic cleric tasks Muslims

Universities don and Islamic cleric, Professor Abdul Afis Oladosu, has tasked Muslims in Nigeria to vote wisely for God- fearing leaders in the 2023 elections.

Professor Oladosu stated this Sunday while delivering a lecture titled: “2023 General Elections: Muslims and the implications of an ambivalent righteous majority,” at Obafemi Awolowo stadium, Ibadan, to mark the new Islamic year, Hijrah1444 AH, organised by the National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations (NACOMYO).

The Islamic cleric said to be able to vote for God- fearing leaders in the next elections, there is the need for Muslims to ensure they register and collect their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC).

Prof Oladosu said Nigeria politicians on their part should abide by the rules and regulations guiding the electoral process and fulfill all promises when they get to power, so as to avoid the wrath of God.

” I want to charge Muslims in the state to ensure they register, collect their PVCs and vote in the 2023 general elections for God-fearing leaders,” he said.

He added, “I urge the politicians and all seekers of positions of authority to fear Allah and remember the day they would return to Allah, the creator of all, with nothing but records of their actions and deeds.”

Governor Seyi Makinde said his administration will continue to be fair and just to all religious beliefs in the state and that Muslim clerics should continue to pray for the success of his administration.

Represented by his deputy, Adebayo Lawal, the governor stated that his administration has maintained religious balance, saying out of the 17 members of the Oyo state executive council, nine are Muslims while the remaining eight are Christians.
