Voter apathy: PDP, APC disagree on ‘militarisation’ of Kwara

The All Progressive Congress governorship candidate in Kwara state, Alhaji Abdulrahahman AbdulRasaq and national leader of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Dr Bukola Saraki have disagreed on the ‘militarization’ of the state in the 2019 general elections.

The duo who are leaders of the two leading political parties have expressed divergent views on the factors responsible for the low turnout of voters in the Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.

While the national leader of PDP senator Bukola Saraki attributed the apathy to the fall out of fears created in the minds of electorates due to the ‘militarization’ of the state, the APC governorship candidate, Alhaji AbduRahman AbdulRasaq however expressed a different opinion.

He said the apathy was as a result of fear created in the minds of the people due to incidents of violence experienced in some parts of the state.
