Wamakko to Sokoto women: Don’t allow Abuja politicians to deceive you

Governor of Sokoto state, Alhaji Aliyu Magatakardan Wamakko, yesterday inaugurated the women wing of the All Peoples Congress (APC), Sokoto state chapter, advised women not allow Abuja politicians to deceive them.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony held at the Maigero open theatre, the governor described the PDP stalwarts in the state as “Abuja-based politicians” who did not mean well for the state.
“Don’t allow Abuja-based politicians or weekend politicians to deceive you. They holes up in Abuja concocting all kind of stories,” he said.

The governor acknowledged  the support  Sokoto women had been giving to him, urging them to remain firm and committed in the current struggle to salvage the country from PDP’s bad governance.
Earlier, in her address, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajiya Kulu Modi Yabo, said state government had since inception in 2007 been implementing policies and programmes that would improve the well being of womenfolk.

Hajiya Kulu said the government had awarded contracts for the construction of Women Development Centers in all headquarters of the 23 local governments of the state.
She said constructions works were in steady progress and would be completed and commissioned before the end of this year.
The commissioner urged the women in the state to continue to support the governor in the current effort to emancipate the North and country from hands of ethnic bigots.
