Warji General Hospital needs intervention

I am writing with a heavy heart to draw the attention of Bauchi state government and other relevant authorities to urgently come to the aid of the nearly collapsed and dilapidated Warji General Hospital.

The bad state of Warji General Hospital is worrisome and devastating as it is the only moderate medical facility attending to the need of about 250, 000 inhabitants in the area in the last 15 years.

Surprisingly, Warji hospital is lacking in almost every aspect ranging from inadequate beds to insufficient medical attendants, which is the condition in which patients are admitted.

The situation of the hospital has endangered many lives due to the unhealthy environment, poor medical equipment and personnel. Despite the problem bedevilling the hospital, it seems to be the last option when seeking medical attention. Imagine how they live with no standard medical facility.

People risk their lives to get into the cracked hospital for medical treatment as a last option; the hospital can collapse any moment from now. This is because the building is broken already. The hospital has been abandoned for the last 20 years with no single renovation.

Therefore, when you calculate the above years mentioned, one would learn that the hospital is no longer beneficial to the people of Warji local government area as it has become a hideout for rodents and other dangerous animals.

Nonetheless, if one may recall, the previous administrations of Mallam Isa Yuguda and that of Muhammad Abubakar promised to rebuild the hospital but their promises failed.

Similarly, the present government has started building a new medical facility in the said area but unfortunately it has been stopped due to unknown reasons.

Therefore, to protect the lives and property of the citizenry, I am appealing to the state government to come to the aid of the people of Warji by continuing with the project. This is to save the lives of innocent citizens.
