Water Sanitation, Hygiene bill‘ll improve water supply in Taraba-CSO’s

The Chairman Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Nigeria, Mr. Joseph Gimba, said water Sanitation and Hygiene service bill 2019 will improve the services of water supply to the people of Taraba state if passed into law.

 Gimba who stated this in Jalingo on Monday when the State House of Assembly held a public hearing on the water, sanitation and hygiene service bill CSOs would join hands with the TAWASCO to enable the agency achieve its goals when the bill is passed into law.

He commended the administration of governor Darius Ishaku  for seeing the need to establish a corporation that will work to meet the water need of Tarabans.

He stressed that the CSOs have the plight of the people of the state at heart, saying it will not relent in making its’ contributions where necessary to support the government.

On his part, Taraba State Coordinator of Society for Water and Sanitation, Mr. Boniface Kuson commended the state government for initiating the bill by giving CSOs chance to make their contributions.

He noted that the bill if passed would assist the people of the state to have access to potable drinking water.

Meanwhile, the Chairman House Committee on Water Resources, Hon. Abdulkarim Muhammed in an opening remark commended E-WASH for its effort toward the actualization of the bill.
