Waziri bags ESFAM varsity’s honorary degree award 

A Nigerian bureaucrat and diplomat, Dr. Waziri Amos Samuel, has been conferred with a doctoral degree (PhD Honoris Causa) in Financial Management and Administration by ESFAM-Benin University in Benin Republic.

The honorary doctoral degree award was conferred on the Nigerian at the recent convocation of the institution, which took place at the Agboku Kuyami campus, Porto-Novo, Republic of Benin.

A statement by the Pro- Chancellor of ESFAM Benin University, Dr. Alfred Abeng Mboto and made available to Blueprint, Monday, said “as a tradition in the university just as in the academia at large a doctoral degree (PhD Honoris Causa) is strictly conferred on distinguished personalities who have excelled in diverse human spheres and are role models in the academia and the larger society.

“The nomination of Dr Waziri Samuel lucidly enumerated his repertoire of academic and professional accomplishments, large portfolio of experience, and globally competitive assignments in which he had discharged himself creditably well.

“The honour is anchored on hard work, tenacity, commitment, productivity and resourcefulness, all of which stand Dr Waziri out as he has risen to the pinnacle of his career in public service.”

The profile showing the track record of the award recipient showed that Amos is an illustrious son from the royal family of Ptil Dzigau, a highly revered African monarch, Lawal Samuel Ptil – Dzigau and Princess Hauwa Kwacham of Taraba state who left their footprints on the sands of time and well known for their value of honesty, integrity, resilience and hard-work built into the young Prince Waziri.

A product of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Amos Waziri holds a B. Sc in Accountancy, and Master’s degree in Business Administration. He is a Fellow Association of National Accountants, Nigeria; Fellow Institute of Chattered Economists of Nigeria; Fellow Certified Commercial Diplomats (London); Fellow Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria and Professional Fellowship Doctorate of the Institute of Chartered Economists, who was a Finance Attaché to the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Nigeria in Vienna, Australia and a Multilateral Mission in Central Europe.
