The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has said it would provide the enabling environment for president Bola Tinubu and his team to succeed.
National Chairman of the Association and Chairman of Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi stated this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja .
Abdullahi said the emergence of Tinubu as the 16th President of the resilient people of Africa’s bursting country will bring added blessings for the fortunes of the country, West Africa and Africa as a whole.
“We will give president Tinubu the desired support to succeed, Nigerians across the 774 Local Government Areas can only do better if there is unity.
“The emergency of Tinubu during the primary and general elections are clear testimony of acceptance by Nigerians”
He said his victory in the last general elections was a clear testimony that Nigeria’s democracy was maturing by the day, with promises for various tiers of government to synergize for good governance and delivering on the socioeconomic needs for the citizens. He added.
The ALGON Chairman further said the 774 local governments of Nigeria were fully ready to support the new administration in bringing about the benefits of the renewed hope offered by the President in the transformation and development process for the country.
He said ALGON congratulated President Tinubu in earnest terms and looks forward to a closer working relationship with the administration in its commitment to providing adequate security, fulfilling the wellbeing of the people and furthering the political and economic development of the entire Nation.
“We are, therefore, ready to support all programmes that Tinubu will initiate under his administration”.
