We rescued 4 kidnapped Turkish nationals – Vigilante




The Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) has said its members in Edu and Patigi local government areas of Kwara state rescued the four Turkish nationals kidnapped by , contrary to the claim by the Nigeria police.

The four Turkish, Yasin Colak, Senepral, Ergun Yurdakul, and Seyit Keklik, were kidnapped by gun men Sunday night at a drinking bar at Gbugbu village in Edu local government area, but were rescued Saturday last week. The Police in Kwara state command had said no ransom was paid for their release from the kidnappers den, adding that they were  rescued  with the support of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and vigilante in the state.  

But in a statement signed by the Provost, VGN Edu/Patigi Zonal Command, Mohammed Umar, and the VGN Zonal Commander Edu/Patigi Zonal Command, Mohammed Dede, said the operation was led by the VGN and supported by the Police and Miyetti Allah and not the other way round as claimed by the police.

The VGN said its help was sought by the Kwara state Police to help in the operation, and its members led the teams and they went for search in the forests that resulted in the of the kidnapped victims.

The statement read:  “In line with the operations led by VGN supported by Nigeria Police Force and Miyetti Allah Fulani Group, the VGN deem it fit to explain to the general public how the operations was taken”.
