We want Eagles to make Africa proud – Nwosu

Sports-loving commissioner for Lands,Survey and Urban Development in Imo state, Hon Uche Nwosu, is desirous of seeing the Brazil 2014 World Cup-bound Super Eagles of Nigeria become the first country in Africa to win the FIFA World Cup.

In a chat with Blueprint Sport in Owerri, Hon Nwosu, who sponsors one of the major football competitions in the state, said his prayer was that Nigeria would make Africa proud by lifting the next World Cup in Brazil.
“By so doing, Nigeria would have become the first country in Africa to set the record. Other African countries will now accord us our due respect and this will remain indelible in their minds,” he enthused.

Asked to comment on the decision of Super Eagles’ gaffer, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, to leave out some players who were regulars in their club sides, preferring half-fit players, he sounded unequivocally: “Keshi is in charge. He knows what to do with the team. If he fails to perform, he should be blamed. We should allow him to exhaust all his plans and then see what happens.”
